Caithness Regeneration Conference 2009

The third Caithness Regeneration Conference took place on 1st October 2009 in the Wick Assembly Rooms. Following an update from Caithness & North Sutherland Regeneration Partnerships Action Plan 2007 -2010 and from the Crown Estate, Jim Murphy, Secretary of State for Scotland delivered the keynote speech.
Breakout sessions in the afternoon covered five topics: Energy; Engineering; Tourism and Local Produce; Enterprise and Innovation and Enabling Activities.
Young People who had attended the Caithness Youth Conference two weeks earlier gave feedback about their future within Caithness. John Thurso MP then rounded the day off on a very positive note regarding the future regeneration of Caithness.
