Caithness Partnership

Caithness Community Councils

Thurso Community Council

began working with the Caithness Partnership last year and community needs were identified for the area.  A draft Community Development Action Plan was then produced.  Stakeholders in the Thurso area were consulted, small amendments were made, new projects added and a final draft was approved in April 2010.  The Caithness Partnership continues to support and assist Thurso Community Council and the downloadable CDAP will be regularly updated with its progress.

Sinclair Bay Community Council

Following the successful re-launch of the Sinclair Bay Community Council, the CDO contacted the group and then attended a meeting in May 2011 to discuss the possibility of introducing a Community Development Plan for their area.  The Sinclair Bay Community Council members agreed to produce an area specific plan and the CDO has subsequently worked with the Chair to produce a draft, with actions for the Keiss area initially.  The Chair is now working towards gathering the information required for the Reiss, Ackergill and Staxigoe areas.

Wick Community Council

Wick Community Council has taken advantage of the Caithness Partnership's website to publish minutes and agendas of all their meetings; they have also published their Wick Community Plan which they adopted in May 2009.  The CDO has developed strong links to Wick Community Council members and assists a number of sub groups towards achievement of their desired objectives.

South East Caithness Development Group

The CDO commenced work with South East Caithness Development Group in 2010 and has subsequently produced a ‘draft' Community Development Action Plan. This group covers the area of South East Caithness which has two separate community councils, namely Berriedale and Dunbeath Community Council and Latheron, Lybster and Clyth Community Council.
