During 2006 and 2007 Caithness Partnership worked with the Carnegie UK Trust to carry out action research into involving rural people in community planning. The project involved testing new way of working with groups of people traditionally views as "hard -to-reach" such as socially isolated people, young people and the elderly. Working with local organisations such as Caithness Voluntary Group, Caithness Rural Transport, South East Caithness Development Group, Dunbeath Daycare Centre, Ormlie Community Association and the Dunnet & Canisbay Community Council, we tried and tested a variety of methods of engagement and the results of that work and some of the lessons learned can be found inthe project report " Caithness Partnership Rural Action Research - Engaging Rural People in Community Planning".
